STALKER John Alan. - Managing Director of The Laser Cutting Co, Catley Road, Sheffield, passed away peacefully at his home at Astley Abbots, new Bridgnorth,
Shropshire on October 2, 2007, aged 60 years. Dearly loved husband of Dee, much loved dad of Maxine.

The First Six Axis in the UK

The Laser Cutting Co in the metal heartland of country (Sheffield) has just installed the biggest automatic tube and beam cutting machine the UK has ever seen.
The newly installed Mazak Fabrigear 300 cuts metal tubes and beams - piece weights uo to 1/2 tonne and is capable of processing customers requirements uo to 8 metres long in auto mode (longer for one off's). This is the first machine of its type in the UK - however there are 10 of these Jumbo machines in the USA.

It has been a very busy start to the year installing a new state of the art, 6kw Trumpf 4 x 2 flat bed laser machine at the Laser Cutting Co, in Sheffield so John Stalker MD thought it was time to relax - for just a brief while and invited over a few friends to enjoy the moment the machine became productive.

Award winning Sheffield-based business The Laser Cutting Company has secured grant assistance worth £155,000 from Yorkshire Forward, cementing the companyıs three year £1 million investment plan. Based in Darnall, The Laser Cutting Company received the support of the cityıs investment agency, Sheffield First for Investment in applying for the grant, to enable the company to fulfil its growth potential.

New laser machine Makes Sheffield firm Largest UK tube cutter
New technology imported from Italy could make Sheffield-based Laser Cutting Company the largest sub-contract tube cutter in the UK. The Darnall firm have taken delivery of a £500,000 laser cutting machine following a deal done with BLM Adige UK at the recent Mach 2004 exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre.

A pioneering Sheffield firm has new markets in its sights after a managment buy-in. The Catley Road based Laser Cutting Company was set up by Chris Peace 25 years ago. It lays claim to being the first firm in the UK to design and build a laser to create tubes with intricate holes cut in them. They play a vital part in extracting the remaining barrels of oil from a well that is running dry.
